Talk

Talk about buffoonery!—
Asking, “How do we choose?”—
Not answered by a thousand years of philosophy
Nor by science, nor by religion, nor by poets,
Yet poetchilde in utter simplicity
Asks.
If a child asks for an egg
Will his father give him a serpent?
If a traveler finds the pearl of great price,
Will he sell all he has to buy it?
If the very essence of God’s word is truth,
What is truth?
poetchilde’s pencil smokes in striving—
To brag? On what? Buffoonery?
