Do Sacred Stories Tell?
Moses, man of God, if you hold the answer I have not the savvy to see.
Isaiah, split in two by modern thinkers, but really? What hold you?
Jeremiah and the twelves of old and new—or James or Jude—you tease me as you talk.
Jesus, in whom are carefully concealed all treasures of wisdom and of knowledge—
Muhammad, man of visions, mindful of God—Buddha—eyes up and contemplative—
How far do I reach?—be there sage to note our struggle, please—we of philosophic mind—
A small request to God although stupendous in earthly understanding—
A mere intuition to give a breath of hope to our coveted libertarianism—
Freedom from the laws of nature that give emergence to ourselves—
Freedom to control the forces in control of our very beings—
Liberty or death!—we announce—we repent—in respect of our very selves—
Unravel us with expertise! Cut us to our cores if you must, so we can see
How we can be—truly free—
Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
