(No. 48)Choice from Above
Has he already said what he will say?
‘God says you are not yet able to understand.’
‘I ask again, yet are you mad? The answer we have lived without.’
‘Trust me,’ says the One, ‘that my ways are higher.’
‘“What the answer?” he cautions in love.’
‘You must be as the child you are.’
But really? My hum of faith says Yahweh has something to say.
‘Please!—my spirit shouts from all my soul—’
‘Asking on behalf of humankind—’
‘The curtain has been torn—the holy place visits the holy-of-holies.’
‘Love preeminent—not robotic nor confined to puppetry—’
‘How will he speak—my heaviness queries at last.’
